"SCHOLARSHIP. SERVICE. SISTERHOOD."
President GreetingIt brings me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Beautiful Beta Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 113 years ago our 20 illustrious founders set out to build something that would be greater than themselves. They built this outstanding sorority on the foundation of sisterhood, scholarship and service and on January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. I am honored to be presenting to you our chapter's history, accomplishments, sisterly relationships, service, and much more!
The Beta Phi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of Ball State University on November 9, 1968. Since then, the Beta Phi Chapter has been exceptionally great, noteworthy, and committed to doing what we do best, by providing leadership, scholarship, and service to the campus of Ball State University and the Muncie community. Since Beta Phi's reactivation in 2010, we have hosted several successful events to benefit the campus and the surrounding community, such as: No Kid Hungry food and donation drive, Pink Goes Red in which we made students aware of the importance of heart health, a bone marrow drive to determine compatibility, a canned food drive for the less fortunate, Back to School Bash, where students donated school supplies, a shoe drive where students learned about the importance of recycling and saving the Earth. Africare received our monetary donations. We also hosted the Mr. Beta Phi Scholarship Pageant, where we highlighted talents of male students, and AKAdemy Awards, in which the proceeds from this event were donated to a local charity. The Beta Phi chapter throughout recent years also received several awards such as: Ball State University's National Pan-Hallenic Council "Most Improved Chapter", "Highest National Pan-Hallenic Counil Grade Point Average", "Chapter of the Year", Award of Excellence and Ball State University's Office of Greek Life award for "Most Greek Unity". I want to be able to lead Beta Phi into winning chapter of the year. This award has held a special place in Beta Phi legacy, and I hope to be able to bring that tradition back to us. I will also not only be here as your leader but also someone who wants nothing but the best for you. I am passionate and dedicated to making Beta Phi the best chapter it can be. Participate with us as we continue "Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service." Best Regards, Nia Jameson, President of the Beta Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated |
